The Pick-Up: Dane Reynolds And Matt Biolos, Together At Last!
Two of surfing’s most opinionated talk Stab in the Dark, Jack Robinson, obscure board shapes and more.
Welcome to the Thursday Edition of The Pick-Up, filmed on location on the North Shore of Oahu.
On this episode, we’re joined by two of the most respectably opinionated figures in the surf world, Mr. Dane Reynolds, and …Lost Generation overlord, Matt “Mayhem” Biolos.
After four tries going for the W in the world’s most prestigious surfboard competition, this year Mick Fanning, Jordy Smith, and Dane Reynolds picked Matt for the win, and the occasion is a special one for the San Clemente iconoclast. The two make for a fairly riveting conversation, the extended cut of which we’ll be releasing at some point very soon.
Also, Tiph gets a look at the Vans team’s left field self-shapes that will be at the Vans Duct Tape Festival today, Thuirsday, at Pua’ena Point from 12 – 4pm.
Friday Night at Farm to Barn, our own Tiph Calalis is hosting a movie night with with films and Art from some of the team’s finest freesurfers, Karina Rozunko, Ainara Aymat, and Hanna Scott.
Saturday night at Aloha Beer Company in Honolulu, we’ll get our first look at Pentacostal, starring Wade Goodall and the rest of the Vans team. Three years in the making, and directed by Shane Fletcher, the film traces a curiously pentagraphic path across Australasia. The party starts at 7 and goes ‘til midnight.
Thanks for watching another episode of The Pick-Up, we’ll see you Monday.
