The Best Kind of R&D
‘Any Vessel Will Do’ in waves this fun.
How fun is Mex.
Statement, not a question.
Powerful sandy points. Barrels. Warm water. Cheap food.
There’s also a few not-so-fun stuff like potholes, sketchy water, crime and sunburns. But Captain Fin Co. team riders Barrett Miller and Jesse Guglielmana decided that for this particular swell, the pros far outweighed the cons. So the two went deep into Mexico to test some apparel, fins, and self-shaped sea craft. All for research purposes, of course.
The resulting footage is Any Vessel Will Do — clean surfing, energetic tunes, and good (even great) waves. Barrett and Jesse first warm up on some very wide, very flat and very fishy equipment on particularly playful rights (how were those reverse attempts?) before descending into a “deep, dark abyss in time and space.” The tubes they find, particularly Jesse’s runner at the end, will make regularfoots the world over a little green.
It’s the kind of clip that’ll leave you reaching for a cerveza and dreaming of dark caverns. And not the kind in the road.
