Watch: The Best Day Of North Shore Winter (So Far) Was Today

“The sandbar just appeared in the last two days,” photographer turned filmmaker, Tom Carey tells Stab on today’s session at a break that looks a lot like Pipeline, but is not. “I got here late last night, then woke up this morning and it was firing.” The sandbar, however, is a Nerf Vortex throw away from the notorious stretch of reef. 

“JJF was the first out then the herd followed,” continues Tom. “He fucking owned everyone though. Balaram was second* followed by Gabby.”

“Today is the best day so far this winter,” esteemed North Shore photog, Brian Bielmann told us earlier today before sending the photos presented here. “It’s crazy how much the sandbar looks like Pipeline right now.”

So, loosen your belt, pour a drink, slug it down in four minutes and revel in the first day of proper tubes we’ve seen on the North Shore thus far.
