Shawn “Barney” Barron, A Tribute

With the passing of Shawn “Barney” Barron last week, the surfing world lost one of the its foremost innovators. Aerials and big-wave charging developed rapidly in part due to Barney’s approach, wild and fueled by creativity (see 1:22). Here, Volcom remembers Barney not only as a surfer, but as a key member of the company’s family, one that defined the brand’s early days. Rest in peace, Barney, you will be missed.
