Robbie Maddison Rides The Shoulder At Todos Santos On His Motorcycle

From Teahupoo to Mexico’s premier big-wave spot on the “world’s shittiest jetski.”

You might remember when professional dirt biker Robbie Maddison rode his dirt bike at Teahupoo a few years back, right? He’s the Australian surfer who is always on the lookout for the next record-breaking stunt on his dirtbike. His Teahupoo clip clocked 25m+ views on youtube, and featured his tricked up dirt bike fitted with small sleds which Stab commenter “Ken” said was “essentially the world’s shittiest jetski.”

Regardless of whether you were into the feat or whatever, Robbie is back at again in Mexico at the big wave spot, Todos Santos. This shoot is seriously more difficult however. Where Teahupoo can have sheet glass conditions in bath-like warm water, Todos Santos is raw and cold. It’s a long way out to sea, frigid and the waves require an offshore wind to stand up.

That offshore, however, creates wild ribbing in the face and makes it remarkably difficult even to launch a boat in Robbie’s case. It’s not the prettiest, or biggest, or steepest Todos wave you’ve ever seen but ol Rob pulls what he set out to do: Ride a wave and get back to another boat. And, you know that after all this planning the Modelos would have been enjoyable that night in Ensenada.
