Reminder: Zeke Lau is Undeniable
An A+ highlight reel set to Black Sabbath and pure Hawaiian power.
Scenario: What if Ezekiel Lau became one of his generation’s next great freesurfers?
There’s a precedent for elite surfers whose skill never translated to competition, but redefined their careers after hanging up the jersey. Rob, Shane and Dane come to mind. An ambitious list to be sure, but Zeke already has two things going for him: an identifiable one-syllable name (albeit abbreviated) and freakish world-class talent.
Excluding some Hawaii events, Zeke eased off the competitive scene in 2025. He’s raising his daughter, growing DARC Sport and, based on his 2025 highlight reel above, surfing as well as ever. Fast. Precise. Powerful. Frontside hacks as proper as they come. Turns with fire hydrant sting. It’s a style that serves him well at Backdoor, Pipeline, Honolua Bay and Rocky Point, a few of the featured waves in his video.

Fair or not, Zeke earned a reputation during his time on the CT. But the 32-year-old’s true personality is quite detached from the cold-hearted competitor portrayed on screen. While we can’t share the specifics yet, Zeke takes a lead role in an upcoming Stab project. Over the course of several weeks, our production team countless shared meals, car rides, and sessions with the 6’2 Hawaiian and came back with rave reviews.
“I’ve kinda got a man-crush on Zeke now,” said one of Stab‘s long-time filmmakers, with no prompting whatsoever.
More to come on that front, but for now, check Zeke’s new clip above and try to explain how he’s not a mainstay on the CT.
