A few months ago, we caught up with Yago Dora for an installment of First & Last. In the piece, he informed us about a recent strike mission to Mexico and a future trip to the Maldives. Yago decided to pack seven boards for that trip, because his pal Miguel Pupo’s previous Maldives trip ended with five snapped sticks.

After catching up with Yago in Hawaii a few weeks later, we discovered that he only broke one board in the Maldives. He then confirmed an ancient theory for us:

If you bring em all, you’ll only need one. If you only bring one, you’ll need em all.

Despite the lack of broken fiberglass, Yago Dora still managed to grab some insane parts during his excursion to the Maldives. Seriously, the massive-air to board-intact ratio is impressive. Golfers must get a similar feeling when they play 18 holes with the same ball.

Did I just bring up golf with a fresh-baked surf clip sitting up there? Gross. Please, ignore me and watch the film, ‘Ciclo’, created by Yago and Bruno Zanin.

P.S. here’s a little BTS action of the opening shadow scene. Apparently it was Yago’s pop’s idea. Pretty cool.
