Paddling Is Overrated
Watch as Chippa, Dion, and Eithan attempt to tame the hissing serpent!
Ed. note: Recently, we wrote a piece about how Australians have seemingly forgotten how to paddle. This is not a rebuttal to that piece, nor is it related in any way other than coincidence.
In this re-visit of the Dock 2.0, we board the flying robot of James Lugo, one of surfing’s premier drone pilots, to watch Chippa Wilson, Noa Deane, Dion Agius and Eithan Osborne perform “run-offs” into Mexican beachies and points.
This aerial vision gives new perspective to our floating dock experiment—mainly in how the bitch slithers, hisses, and (occasionally) bites when confronted by a wave.
Friendly, she is not.
We’d also like to highlight the incredible work James Lugo has done during his tenure at Volcom, which after a number of fruitful years together, ended due to the pandemic.
While this is the reality for many people in many industries around the world, we don’t think that talent like his should go unnoticed or underappreciated.
He’s currently available for hire requests at @lugo_lugo.
