One Man’s ‘Shit Wave’ Is Another Man’s Stand-Up Tube

The Ventura wastewater plant sits roughly 1275 feet from one of the most popular waves in town.

No surprise then, that every winter, when low pressure systems bring swell to the shores of Dane Reynolds hometown, the torrential downpours bring defecation into the rivers and lineups.

The result? 

Good waves, teeming with enterococcus bacteria.

Or, as Ch11 has decided to call them — Shit Waves.
