Mitch Crews, Mexico, and three highly enjoyable minutes
Mitch Crews is one of the most entertaining characters in contemporary surfing. It doesn’t hurt that he’s a very fast surfer, great at spinning and handy in the barrel. He moved to LA around five months ago and has been thoroughly enjoying having a big, international airport 10 minutes from his door, as well as California’s proximity to Mexico – a fact Mr Crews takes full advantage of in this edit from Otis, perfectly soundtracked and shot in such a way as to hide anyone else in the lineup, which is always a welcome addition. There’s something hypnotic here, and Crewsy fucking kills. Four and a half stars.
