No Mick is not riding Mayhems now.

Mick’s fiancee, Breeana, is originally from Huntington Beach. So he’s spending a fair bit more time on that side of the globe now. MF was posted up in San Clemente last season while the first Final’s day playoffs unfolded. He and Kelly even stopped by the booth as Gabriel Medina took on Filipe Toledo to decide the World Title. Their insights were wonderful, so much so that we spent eight hours re-watching the broadcast to bundle them all together, see here

“Most summers, Mick comes to California,” says San Clemente native and Lost Surfboards Founder, Matt Biolos. “Usually he orders or grabs a couple boards to keep us on our toes, make sure we are still on our game. Mick doesn’t ride for us. Never has. He has happily ridden DHDs for most of his career, winning three World Titles and countless accolades on them. Mick has sporadically toyed around with Mayhems, for over a decade and we are always honored when he does. Here’s a handful of clips featuring Sir Mick, putting a few through the paces, last summer.”

A timely reminder to experiment and keep it frisky.

Matt Biolos was one of 12 shapers included in this year’s EAST (first ep drops Sept 1, btw). Thoughts on how he’ll fare?
