Surfboards are something we like. They’re our fix, and as a man can have too many surfboards, a good quiver is necessary to make the most out of your local breaks. A few months back, we did a Stab Caddy with Julian Wilson on his JS HYFI. It’s gone on to win SBIA’s (Surf and Boardsports Industry Association) board of 2016. Which seems a little premature since we’re not even halfway through the year (but this is their time for annual awards)… However, in celebration, JS Industries has put out this clip featuring, Jules, Parko and Dusty giving the HYFI technology a proper going over.

“The ultimate surfboard gives you feedback,” said Mr Wilson on the blade. “The moment you stand on them, you know. It tells you how it wants to be ridden. They allow you to create space to do whatever you want to do. You never have to rush. The perfect surfboard makes you feel like you’ve got all the time in the world.”

And as we all can’t see waves and cue into the finer details the way Julian can, we’ve all had boards you can’t help but describe as anything less than “magic”. Everyone likes winning awards, so we give credit when credit’s due.
