Barrel, turn, air, repeat. Film: Justin King
Kyuss King Provides A Dose Of Indo Envy
Sandbars in Sumatra?
You Australians don't know how good you have it.
As if the waves in your own country weren't spectacular enough, just above the Australian continent is Indonesia, home to the most consistently perfect surf in the world. Across a vast archipelago there are hundreds of world class reefs and beachies, fed by an ever lively Southern-by-way-of-Indian Ocean. You have to try not to get barreled.
So yeah, when another Aussie pro or pro junior makes his umpteenth Indo voyage of the season, it gets to me. How, I wonder, did this little shit get so lucky? To inherit good parents and good genes and good work ethic and a good marketing shtick? Kyuss King got all of these things, or earned them or whatever, and that's why he's in Indo getting more barreled than you or I.
