Death Match: Kolohe Andino Vs. Griffin Colapinto

San Clemente California is home to Lowers, …Lost, and one of surfing’s most intricate rivalries, that between young CTers Griffin Colapinto and Kolohe Andino. The intricacy revolves around the fact that while they both want to be the best surfer in San Clemente (and beyond), Kolohe and Griffin are really good friends.

It also doesn’t help when surfing publications make a point of consistently comparing the two. But hey, as far as I’m concerned, stoking the fire will only push them surf better, in which case everybody wins.

Case in point: Kolohe and Griffin just spent a week in Hawaii with their friend and filmer, Jacob Vanderwork. The Instagram clips they released act, in my mind, as a battle for supremacy. So let’s put on our judging hats and choose a winner!
