Koa Smith Stabs King Kong In The Heart, Howls Triumphantly!
The hits just keep on coming from Panama’s eastern shore.
Silverbacks is one of those anomaly kind of waves that shouldn’t really exist. Or at least if you went looking for a wave like it you certainly would start searching in the belly of the Caribbean.
It doesn’t make sense. There’s no long, extended fetch like in the Pacific. There aren’t monstrous, end-of-days swells like in the Atlantic. Instead, intense local low pressure systems spin in the Caribbean, firing off potent, short-interval swell to the east coast of Central America. And Silverbacks sucks it all in. Still, it’s baffling that the east coast of Panama pumps like this.
Koa and Travis Smith, along with Luke Davis were recently feasting on the Panamanian freak and just dropped the second installment of their strike mission to the zone. Of course, there are other waves in the area, and the score continues outside of the Silverback’s lineup, but that ledging, slabbing gorilla is the star of the show.
