Is This The Largest Wave Ever Paddled By A Woman?
Laura Enever showcases her extreme range of talents in ‘Warm.’
Very few surfers boast a resume which features both extended CT tenure and potential big wave world records.
It’s fair to say that the personality required to find two gems every 30 minutes during a garbage QS campaign doesn’t often lend itself to waiting three hours for a single terrifying straighthander.
With her latest edit ‘Warm’ Laura Enever reminds us that she may well be the only woman whose accolades span impressively across both categories of waveriding — placing her firmly next to Jaws GOAT Shane Dorian.
After pairing tranquil Hawaiian sections and smiles with horseshoeing Backdoor beauties, Laura gives us two video angles of her mythic outer reef paddle effort from this winter. Though Laura missed out as the 10th alternate for the Eddie, she found the ‘biggest wave of her life’ just a few clicks up the beach.
The bomb has officially been submitted to Guinness World Records as a contender for the largest wave ever paddled by a woman — Andrea Moller holds the current record at 42 feet.
Though wave height world records are notoriously ambiguous, flighty calculations — Laura’s effort looks notably larger to us.
