Imagine Growing Up At Desert Point…

With recent travel restrictions being lifted, Indonesian surfers are once again free to roam from island to island in search of world-class waves. While the rest of us scavenge for waist-high sets at the local beachie, Indo’s top guys are clocking in some serious tube time. A solid group of Indonesian surfers including Bronson Meydi, Rizal Tanjung, Rio Waida, and others took full advantage of this opportunity by organizing a Desert Point strike mission. Pretty safe to say they scored. Local knowledge is always helpful, but this is just downright unfair. Guys you’ve never heard of navigating the reeling left-hander with an unprecedented level of precision. As envious as we are, it’s hard not to watch this video and smile. The halting pause of tourism is an absolute blessing for Desert Point locals like Usman Trioko. No pros from other continents crowding the take-off zone, just local guys enjoying wave after wave.
