The Finals of the Pro Division at Stab High Japan featured two surfers from Maui and two from California… and one döppleganger from Western Australia.
Somehow, Jacob Szekely was two of these people… or, the West Australian was him?
Either way, the aggrandizing vlog star was the center of attention for a significant portion of our Japanese chlorine event, bringing a UFC style approach to every interaction.
“I’ll make you a bet,” the self-proclaimed ‘King of Waco’ responded to Shaun Manner’s internet callout before the event. “Whoever gets a higher score [in Stab High Japan], the loser has to use the other person’s board for a year straight…come on Shaun, you’re an elite freesurfer, I’m just a vlogger. Surely you can take me out.”
After a few days of beef squashing and realizing they actually get along, Shaun and Zeke morphed the bet into “if Zeke makes the final, Shaun gets to ride the first wave, wearing Rusty boardies + Rusty surfboard.”
Sure enough, Zeke made the final.
