Eric Gieselman, Brendon Gibbens And The Mexican Currents
A warm wayward destination.
For Southern California surfers, Mexico exemplifies a fairly basic but often rewarding destination. Which just a tank of gas or a cheap flight–the dollar goes far–you can find yourself alleviated from the SoCal crowd, and maybe even in trunks. Although it comes as a shocker to many Mexi-virgins, that the water temp just south of San Diego (Baja Norte) is a few degrees colder and always give a good laugh to the locals, ladies and gentlemen that make the journey to escape the masses sans a full suit. So, here Beeg and EG venture deeper and enjoy the warm water, weather, cheap beer, tubes and ramps that we, as surfers, come to expect out of California’s southern neighbour.
