An Extraordinary But Menacing Wave Between A Medieval Castle And An Island
Nic Von Rupp does Supertubos.
The best wave of the 2023 WSL CT season was ridden in Peniche.
Remember that 10 Callum Robson got?
Supertubos is a special wave. It’s gotta be the most consistently off-its-head joint in Europe (sorry, La Grav). When it’s on, you might see five different waves spit in the same set. It’s got multiple peaks, some of which are capable of producing both lefts and rights. But, don’t let the sand it breaks over give you a false sense of comfort — boards and bodies are often harmed there.
Nic Von Rupp just dropped a Peniche ep of his Portugal back-to-back quest. A super session went down with friends from near (Miguel Blanco) and far (Italo Ferreira). Then, he played tourist.
The wave is almost smack between an old medieval town, Óbidos, and these lovely little islands called Berlengas. Hit play to add a bit of context to a wave you’re already quite familiar with.
