Waxing poetic about the East Coast road trip is nothing new…
The trajectory of a good hurricane swell is one reason, granting time for those who are willing to quite literally chase the swell up the seaboard. This often results in sleeping situations much like the one Eric G found himself at 8:17, which is still somehow better than where Mikey C is currently sheltering.
Even if the meteorological conditions that sustain such adventures were available in say, California, it just wouldn’t be the same as the East Coast road trip for one simple reason: culture. The variance in the people, places and things between the regions and their specific states is the secret sauce that makes these endeavors so entertaining.
Here we have Michael Dunphy, Noah Schweizer and Eric + Evan Geiselman capturing three East Coast trademarks: shark fishing in Florida, stilted houses and stiff offshores in North Carolina, along with some loud mouthed laughs in New York. The cliches are abundant and the surfing fantastic.
