Now Unlocked: Former’s New Film, ‘System Is Yours’

When asked what he would look for in a new team rider for his apparel brand Former, Dane Reynold replied, “Anybody who doesn’t use trap music or Drake on their reels on Instagram.” 

It’s hard to detect any flaws there. Plus, that logic has already helped Dane construct quite an impressive team — which is showcased in Former’s new surf edit, System Is Yours. 

It features Dane (his distinct blend of power and progression will always be compelling) with Craig Anderson (he makes that slab look easy, until he makes it look violent), Benny Howard (the smile is telling), Kaito Ohashi, (the free surfer Japan needs!), and Andrew Doheny (how good is it to see him surfing again?). 

The film is 16 minutes long, edited by Dane, and is playing exclusively on Stab Premium for the next 48 hours. 

All up, System Is Yours will provide a gulp of oxygen for those who feel as though they’ve been drowning in the aforementioned Drake reels and unboxing videos and the WSL/Airbnb collaboration. It feels like surfing.
