World’s Wealthiest Ex-C-Grade Pro Surfer Gets Extravagantly Hitched In Bali

The Fishers are hooked.

Come their 30th birthday, every C-Grade pro surfer has a choice to make.

Will they live out the rest of their existence as some surf industry hanger-on, working first as a team manager and then, if inspiration strikes, starting their own C-grade brand? Will they become a surf coach, working their way up from the juniors to the Q-eys to a couple of C-grade CTers? Or will they abandon surf’s sinking ship entirely, becoming an insurance salesman, a realtor, a fireman, or Grammy-nominated music sensation?

Unlike most of his peers, Paul Fisher chose the latter option. At 33 years old, Fisher (as he is now known) sells out arenas and festivals around the world. His song “Losing It” reached the number one slot on the Billboard charts.

For these reasons, Fisher is now a very rich man. Much richer than the team managers, surf coaches and insurance salesmen, at least. And while music seems like a fairly arbitrary outlet through which to channel his genius (Taj Burrow famously commented on one of Fisher’s old Instagram posts, “You don’t have a musical bone in your body [cry-laughing emoji]”), Fisher was always meant to be star.

He’s great on camera. He loves the spotlight. His personality is magnetic, hilarious.

Perhaps that’s how he attracted the love of his life, and now bride, Mrs. Chloe Chapman Fisher.

Yesterday, after a week of debauchery in which the DJ rented out Keramas’ Komune resort for friends and family, Paul and Chloe were married in the most Fisher way possible.

World champions Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson, plus Taj Burrow, Jay Davies, the Hazza twins, and UFC star Luke Rockhold were in attendance.

Here’s a rough timeline of events via @followthefish’s IG story (though you should really watch them for yourself):

  • A nervous Fish prepares for the day with his groomsmen, admits that he had been rehearsing his vows rather than soaking in an ice bath.
  • Chloe is escorted to the alter by her (startling handsome) father while Fish sobs tears of joy.
  • Fish attempts to deliver his vows (reading from an iPhone) but catches an emotional snag, having to steady himself before continuing.
  • The newly anointed Fishers lock lips to seal the deal then walk off to their unofficial wedding song, “Losing It.”
  • The Fishers ride away on a Bali scooter adorned with cans clanking on the pavement.
  • Cakes are smashed into faces and fireworks ring in their eternal love.

Congratulations to Fish and Chloe, and shall they continue to enjoy an A-Grade existence.
