Watch: First Waves Ridden At Kelly Slater’s Abu Dhabi Pool
Bigger, longer, and presumably better-smelling than Lemoore.
After years of speculation and construction, it’s finally here.
The new Kelly Slater Wave Co pool in Hudayriyat Island, United Arab Emirates, is up and running, and several of the world’s best are there to sample it.
You already know who had first prio.
Rumors suggest that the likes of Steph Gilmore, Gabriel Medina, Filipe Toledo, Jeremy Flores and more are currently on the ground in Abu Dhabi, sampling the world’s longest wavepool to date.
Based on the video above, the wave appears similar to Lemoore but slightly larger in stature, with a significantly improved backdrop, and presumably superior smell.
Once officially open, the Surf Abu Dhabi pool will be available to the public on an individual basis, unlike Lemoore, which is only open to large, private groups.
