Wanna go to Carbon Festival?

Carbon Festival is a slick, two-day bender of contemporary design, style and culture in Melbourne this weekend. Speakers this year are a mix of genius designers, photographers, entrepreneurs and everything in between, which includes photog Henry Chalfant, sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg, artist Jeff Hamada, restaurateur Eddie Huang, graffiti artist Barry McGee, and more. But the speakers that most interest Stab are two men you’ve heard of, if not by name then by their output: Shawn Stüssy and Pat PM Tenore. Shawn is the man who started Stüssy clothing in the early 80s. The logo originated from Shawn scrawling his surname on surfboards he was shaping, and soon found its way onto teos and more. Despite its chilled beginnings in Cali surf culture, the company is now one of the world’s most recognisable (and enduring) streetwear labels. PM Tenore. Pat PM Tenore is the man who started RVCA with Conan Hayes in 2000. As president, he’s built a lifestyle brand that houses surf, skate, music, art, and even UFC, under one roof. Their surf team stars men like Matt and Ford Archbold, Makua Rothman, Danny Fuller and Alex Knost. This, you know. You can be sure that both men will share some captivating recollections and amazing insights. It’ll be, like, an education… Wanna win a double-pass? All you have to do is tell us: What is the best Stussy collaboration ever done? Winner must be able to get themselves to RMIT this saturday and sunday. Include your email so we can get atcha. More info about Carbon Festival, here.
