John John Florence and the surf film of the year

Three years in the making, John John Florence, yeah there’s gonna be bangers! Blake Kueny and Brain Farm (Travis Rice’s film company) have teamed up to produce a film that we have no problem giving a little bit of hype. Mr Florence opted for less people and more heavy grinders to film in (think: West Oz, West Africa, Brazil, and of course Hawaii). The film will also feature Nathan, Ivan and Alex Florence, Bruce Irons, Kiron Jabour, Albee Layer, Matt Meola, Eli Olson, Jamie O’Brien, Koa Rothman, Jordy Smith, Koa Smith, Frank Solomon and Filipe Toledo… and if that’s not a killer cast, we don’t know what is. The budget for the film’s nice and cushy. “But my favorite thing about this film is how we made it,” said John. “The toys we used might have been bigger and more expensive. But we shot this movie in the same spirit we always have. We spent quality time with family and friends in my favorite places on the planet. We went surfing. And we documented it so we could take it home with us.” This will be the first surf film, filmed entirely in 4k. VFABM will premiere November 11th and will be avail for purchase December 1st. “My interest in photography naturally transitioned into filmmaking,” Mr Florence said. “I’ve worked closely with my friends Blake Kueny and Erik Knutson for a while now, and we’ve had fun dreaming up ways to show surfing differently. For this project, we teamed up with Brain Farm, the group who made some of my favorite sport films ever: Art of Flight and That’s It, That’s All. They captured snowboarding like it had never been captured before. Super high-end production, groundbreaking heli angles, crazy slow-motion… their snowboard films actually get me amped to surf.”  *** Catch the premiere in your town:OAHU:8pm on November 11, 2015 Sunset Beach Neighborhood Park 59-727 Kamehameha Hwy Haleiwa, HI 96712ORANGE COUNTY:8pm on November 11, 2015, 9:45pm on November 11, 2015 Edwards Big Newport 6 300 Newport Center Drive Newport Beach, CA 92660PARIS: 8pm on November 12, 2015 Le Grand Rex, 1 boulevard Poissoniere, 75002 parisTOKYO: 8pm on November 11, 2015 Toho Cinemas Shibuya 2-6-17 Dogenzaka Shibuya-kuSYDNEY:8pm on November 11, 2015 Collaroy Cinema 1097 Pittwater Road, Collaroy New South Wales, 2097
