Travis Rice Finds Waves In The Hydrological Cycle Of The North Atlantic
Brain Farm, Red Bull And Garage Entertainment Release ‘The Fourth Phase’.
If you’re like most of us who thoroughly enjoyed John Florence’s View From A Blue Moon and the snowboarding epic The Art Of Flight then we come bearing desirable news. Brain Farm, the big budget, high fidelity production gang responsible for said films, finally have their latest masterpiece The Fourth Phase up in lights on the big screen, with support from Red Bull and Garage Entertainment. While this is a snowboard epic centred around the upper northern hemisphere (acknowledging our surfing inclinations here at Stab), star of the show Travis Rice does spend some time in the drink. Unfortunately all they’ve provided are the below frames, ripped straight off the 4k reel but doesn’t this little setup look highly intriguing.

Is that a claim or a method of keeping the extremities warm?
While exploring the untapped backcountry of his native Wyoming, Rice plots a 16,000 mile course to follow the hydrological cycle around the north Pacific, where snow and ice create dreamlike landscapes on the towering mountains above.
From the Japanese Alps to the volcanoes of Russia, and a spectacularly remote area of Alaska, Rice is joined by several of snowboarding’s most innovative riders including Mark Landvik, Eric Jackson, Bryan Iguchi, Pat Moore, Mikkel Bang, Jeremy Jones, Victor de Le Rue, Ben Ferguson, and more.

Frosted runners somewhere in the North Atlantic.
Humans throwing themselves over various ledges, will the fascination ever cease? Likely not. Here’s more of what the film will entail:

“Their snowboard films actually get me amped to surf,” says John Florence.
The feature is showing in select cinemas now. Go here for more.
