The Make Or Break Trailer Has Landed

“This is a war, you have to find a way to win it at all costs” – Steph Gilmore

Is the world’s best female surfer unveiling her inner Machiavelli or are Box to Box feeding scripted lines?

Either way, helluva trailer. Kinda. Trailers should tease. Arouse. They can also be big nothing burgers. This was both. ‘Make or Break’ the seven-part documentary series that delivers behind-the-scenes access to the world’s best surfers as they battle for the World Title drops next week April 29 on Apple TV.

We discussed why this could be a great unlock for the WSL here.

Regardless of what you think about the mid-year cut, this drama is playing out perfectly for Box to Box, the London-based production company behind the hit docuseries, Drive to Survive (DTS) and Make or Break (MOB) who are already in production for the second season.

One interesting thing to note here is that Netflix’s streaming platform, which co-produced DTS, counts 222 million subscribers, while Apple TV counts just 20 million. While a premium Netflix subscription costs AUD $29/month and Apple TV costs AUD $7.99/month, it has more than ten times as many subscribers, which won’t help MOB maximize the number of eyeballs on this thing.

Personally, I’ll be peppering friends for their login details before I pull out my card, but who’s sold?
