Floater Destroys Taj Burrow’s Knee In WA
He just came out of surgery.
Knee injuries have officially reached pandemic proportions in the sport of surfing.
Just this morning, Taj Burrow announced that he shredded his ACL while surfing in Australia’s Northwest. He accompanied the announcement with the following photo with his daughter:
Stab sent Taj a message to discover exactly what happened.
“I was on a family holiday up north west WA at gnaraloo,” Taj told Stab. “Had the time of my life surfing fishing and camping with family and heaps of friends. Towards the end of the trip I surfed the bluff and did a regular floater except board separated from foot and when it reconnected it just went bang! I just had surgery 24 hours ago. I’m on a cloud right now, but then we’ll be on the road to recovery.”
Stab is saddened to hear this news about one of our perennial favorites. ACL surgery is brutal and the recovery process can be long and painful, but we look forward to when Taj is back and able to do stuff like this again:
