Stab Podcast: Parasites, Fake Babies, And The Anti-Forecast Movement
+ A pinch of EAST yeast.
The boys are back.
Back in their respective homes, that is. After months of projects, both in the States and that little wave pool comp we ran in Sydney — drawing both our current editor-in-chief, Michael Ciaramella, and former editor-in-chief, Brendan Buckley, away from their respective homes in Costa Rica and Portugal — the boys are finally back in their happy places. And, if history’s any guide, Mikey’s probably recording this from the backseat of a car with his shirt off.
Picture it. Sweet beads of sweat down his back. Go on. Picture it.
Keep picturing it.
Nice.
It’s been a bit of a grim week in surfing — pregnancies as marketing schemes, Jeremy Flores facing a brain tumour, and the death of a legend, John Peck. The boys dive into all of it, including episode one of Mikey Feb’s EAST, surf forecasting as thought colonisation, and sacrificing Eimeo Czermak so Noah Beschen can get a cool barrel photo.
Side note: Did you know it’s pronounced Bes-Chen? With a CH, not a SH? I certainly didn’t.
After all that, Mikey and Buck go on to accuse you of being a parasite, claiming you’re slowly devouring surfing itself. Are you really going to let them get away with that?
No. You’re not.
Hate listen above.
