Live Act Announcement: Poolside To Play Stab High

Because the party isn’t going to stop when the waves do.

Trying to find a live act for our Stab High event has proven interesting. The Stab office consists of plenty musically pious individuals. Our tastes typically agree and occasionally combat with the fierceness of a country on the brink of civil war.

We had many ideas for our musical act. Some of us leaned towards psych-rock. Other leaned on the side of disrupting surf stereotypes and bringing in a hip hop act. The general consensus, however, was we want people to move their feet. After a long day of watching 20 of the world’s best aerial surfers dine on the world’s most famous air section, we want an after party.

And at that party, we want to boogie.

Eventually our sights landed on the Los Angeles group that coined the genre daytime disco, Poolside. Over LCD Soundsystems’ last tour, longtime fan of the group, and near-mythic in the world of electronic influenced music, rocker James Murphy had them open up for their California shows. They played San Francisco Outsidelands this year – the result was a late afternoon boogie down that led Billboard, amongst many other music media to list them as the top acts of SF’s most notable music festival.

Stab High will take place on September 22nd at BSR Cablepark Waco, Texas and tickets are on sale now

Tickets will get you into the event, the concert, the world’s largest lazy river, a mega waterslide and interactive art instalment hosted by french illustrator Lucas Beaufort.

Hit this link and wave goodbye to summer with us in the heart of Texas.

If you’re not already, get acquainted with Poolside here.
