Mick Fanning has just won the Quiksilver Pro, France over Gabriel Medina. After beating an outta-sorts John John Florence with true electricity, Mick then took down Joel convincingly in the semis. While Gabriel occupied as much airspace as possible on the lefts, Mick started off strong on the rights, then tried his hand at the lefts to no avail, before heading back to the rights and putting the nails in the coffin. End scores: Mick’s 16.66 was too much for Gabriel’s 15. Gabs won here in 2011, but today’s victory for Mick marks the fourth time the Australian has won in France. And, he now takes the ASP World Title ratings lead.
