Kelly Slater Collapses During Training

Pushing a little too hard Mr Slater?

“When you’re doing a breathing class with The Ice Man on Friday the 13th under a New Moon and Mercury is heavily in Retrograde and you pass out and fall on your face, start dreaming and wake up wondering where TF you are and why does your face feel like you just got tackled on the football field.” Yesterday Kelly Slater dropped the above video on his Instagram showing him collapse face-down into the dirt during a specialist training session with Dutchman Wim Hof aka ‘The Ice Man’. The regime involves a hyperventilation-like breathing method coupled with short bursts of intense exercise which messes with oxygen levels in the body and can sometimes (surprise surprise!) cause one to feel light headed or faint. In the short clip Mr Slater, with girlfriend Kalani Miller on spotting duties, climbs to his feet and begins a jumping exercise before stumbling and falling head first into the grass. It’s a couple of seconds before Kelly comes to with that confused ‘what the hell just happened?’ look on his face. Apart from a concerned reaction from Action the dog, the rest of the crowd seem unfazed with Miss Miller appearing rather entertained by the event.

Kelly: you have an empire to run, an artificial wave to shape and at least one decent result to obtain this year, please refrain from oxygen-starving that brain of yours. Source: Instagram
