EpoxiCore, DHD’s fresh hit of higher performance

The following is the result of esteemed foam man, Darren Handley, deciding to “rule everything in.” A new technology, pioneered by the team at DHD, has been used to create a surfboard that’ll stand alone in the surf industry. It’s called EpoxiCore, and the tech addresses the best attributes of traditional poly boards and epoxy construction. And when you’re testing new tech, what better feet to slide them under than those of Mick Fanning, Jack Freestone and the lovely Steph Gilmore? (see results above). When it comes to EpoxiCore, it’s all in the weight distribution. While typical epoxy boards have a tendency to resist connecting with waves during critical turns, EpoxiCore controlled flex has a spring release sensation to it. The new design provides the control necessary to up the radicality of manoeuvres, especially when it comes to putting the board on rail. Mick, Jack and Steph, after many test runs, concluded that they had a winner; a board that’ll provide the average surfer with more confidence and bring about a new surfing experience. Which, really, we’re all chasing. “I’ve been lucky enough to be the tester for this new revolutionary piece of equipment and all I can say is this board will change everything,” Jack said in a recent post on IG. The pointy end of surfboard design is a space DHD knows well. Last year, Stab had Julian Wilson test 11 unmarked boards and rank them accordingly. Unsurprisingly, DHD delivered the best. So, when Darren and his team claim this is the next big thing in surfing, we’re well inclined to believe it.
