After an odd waiting period, the women’s finals went down today at Cloudbreak. Courtney Conlogue walked away with the victory. Courtney took down Tyler Wright, Johanne Defay and Lakey Peterson in the semifinals, quarterfinals and round four, respectively, before reaching the final, where she would match up against Hawaiian surfer, Tatiana Weston-Webb.

Tatiana’s path to finals day was a bit sporadic. Starting off with a round one loss to Bethany Hamilton, Tatiana would squeeze past Coco Ho in round two before finishing dead last behind Sally Fitzgibbons and Nikki Van Dijk in round three. But she wouldn’t let the odd start rattle her, going on to take down Stephanie Gilmore in round four. She would then follow-up that win by defeating Carissa Moore in the quarterfinals and Sally Fitzgibbons in the semis.

Courtney’s road to the finals was bumpy as well. After shouldering past Lakey Peterson and Silvana Lima in round one by just .09 points total, Courtney would finish second behind Johanne Defay in round three, her combined 10.16 just 3.17 points short of Johanne’s 13.33 final total. She would slowly start to pick up steam in round four and onto the final, though.

In the final itself, Tati charged, and Courtney surfed safe. And while Tati might have won the people’s vote, sometimes safe pickups the scores and subsequent wins.

Here’s the finals number breakdown:

Final
Heat one: Courtney Conlogue 8.74, Tatiana Weston-Webb 5.53.

Semifinals
Heat one: Courtney Conlogue 8.17, Tyler Wright 7.83.
Heat two: Tatiana Weston-Webb 13.54, Sally Fitzgibbons 13.40.

Quarterfinals
Heat one: Courtney Conlogue 16.6, Johanne Defay 14.96.
Heat two: Tyler Wright 12.50, Sage Erickson 2.43.
Heat three: Tatiana Weston-Webb 13.40, Carissa Moore 12.83.
Heat four: Sally Fitzgibbons 15.33, Nikki Van Dijk 7.50.
