Breaking: Jack Robinson Signs With Volcom

It’s true.

After five years and some change with Billabong, Western Australia’s Jack Robinson is peeling back the double wave and replacing it with a Stone.

This news comes as a minor shock to the crew at Stab, as we’d received every indication that Jack would re-sign with the Bong in 2019. Today’s news is just another great example of how nothing’s official til the ink dries, so it’s Jack plus Volcom in 2019, baby.

“The moment I put the sticker on I couldn’t be more stoked,” Jack said about his new (non-)corporate daddy. “It’s exciting to have people that believe in my dreams. Volcom is core and true to this and it’s an amazing fit for me!”

After winning the Volcom Pipe this past February, Jack has transcended “wunderkind” status and asserted himself as a genuine CT threat for 2020. The 21-year-old is currently fourth on the QS, and should he qualify, we’ve caught wind that Jack’s new salary (which is an undisclosed number likely in the low six-figure range) will be doubled.

Not a bad incentive to practice your three-to-the-beaches.

Regardless of Jack’s competitive future, we applaud this pairing and can’t wait to gorge on its blossoming fruits. Imagine Robbo and Noa tag-teaming North Point twin Stones on their noses… Jack ruling the takeoff and Noa floating off ramps on the inside. It’s magic!
