World Champ, 2x Pipe Master, and 4x Triple Crown winner passes in hospital.
Derek Ho, uncle of Mason and Coco Ho, Hawaii’s first world champ, and surfing legend has tragically passed this afternoon in hospital.
This morning it was reported that “Uncle Derek” checked himself in to hospital after suffering a heart attack. Unfortunately, this afternoon, Hawaii‘s first world champion passed away at 55 years old. The exact cause of death has not yet been released.
Derek Ho was a legend of the surfing community world wide, securing two Pipe Masters titles and four Triple Crowns.
Our thoughts are with the Ho family and all close to him in this tragic time.
