Aussie Teenagers Sweep The Best Two QS Events In Recent Memory
Winter Vincent and Jarvis Earle perch themselves atop the real Dream Tour, while Kerr family bonds over sharing sizable pits.
Following the advent of the highest scoring WSL heat of all time yesterday, Lagundri Bay continued to provide the goods for today’s finalists.
In a showdown against none other than Josh Kerr, nineteen year old Winter Vincent posted an 18.46 heat total to convincingly secure his place atop the QS hierarchy. Ella McCaffray followed with a similarly excellent 16.16 to hoist her trophy.
Willow Hardy and Sierra Kerr both posted emphatic 10s on the day.
“This is the best surf I think the world has seen for a QS comp,” said Winter, after his win. “I’m pretty stoked to be a part of it.”
His victory all-but guarantees him a spot on next year’s Challenger Series, freeing him from the pressure of doing well on this year’s CS. In a similar position is 2023 World Junior Champ Jarvis Earle — who claimed a win at the altogether enjoyable Krui Pro last week.
Both Jarvis and Winter featured as mentees in our 2019 film ‘Craig Anderson and The Stab Innocents‘ — which you can watch below.
