A Shark Swam In Manly Pool Today
Novel story of the day.
What a peculiar sight, bikini clad women basking in Sydney’s spring sunshine while a shark swims merely a few feet away. Rather than being a scene from the latest shark-thriller film, the animal (there are currently mixed reports on whether the breed is a Mako or Great White) was actually placed in the pool intentionally.
According to SMH, the shark had washed ashore on Manly Beach around midday, floundering around in the shallows before several bystanders attempted to assist its efforts to return to deeper waters. When their efforts failed, the shark was moved by stretcher to the Fairy Bower pool.
Apparently the shark had sustained injuries to its lower mouth and was held in the pool for the afternoon under observation from an expert from the Manly Sea Life Sanctuary.
The shark was set to be released at 5pm local time, but not before the Instagram shoot had wrapped.
