Mr. Jordy Smith!

That this year’s Mystery Surfer just so happens to sit at the top of the current CT charts is sweet serendipity, as was the fact that we absolutely scored in the Mentawais for Stab In The Dark’s two-week filming.

As we mentioned this morning, we’ll be giving away all 12 Stab In The Dark boards to one lucky reader. But not until everyone gets a chance to fondle them, and, swell allowing, give them a spin:

Thursday, September 28, 2:30PM, Southside Huntington Pier:

Jordy will be hanging with us and all 12 Stab In The Dark boards as well as special guest Kolohe Andino, our friends from Futures, and more. Come get a wave on some of the world’s best shortboards, and chat up the big South African currently wearing the Yellow Jersey.

The film premiers here, at 9PM Thursday in the States, Friday AM in Australia.

And we can’t wait for you all to see it. The performance Mr. Smith put in in the Mentawais—battling Bali Belly, enduring burnout days putting board after board through their paces, as well as the endless prodding from our investigative staff just dying to hear his unfiltered thoughts on each board’s quirks and come-ups—is certainly the most impressive we’ve seen for Stab In The Dark, and we know you’ll agree. It’s been a long time since a boat trip felt fresh, new, and necessary. For testing the world’s best high performance surfboard, we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
