So You Want To Go Fast… And Do Turns?
Seems like a lot to ask of a surfboard. But Channel Islands reckons they’ve found the ideal balance.
Please do not misgender Channel Islands’ new surfboard model, the FishBeard.
It’s 2020, and that would be very embarrassing for you. Besides, this surfboard is not a true ‘fish’, nor is it a ‘performance board’. It’s both. Or neither. We’re not actually sure.
To learn more about this abstract design, which features the flat entry rocker and keel-fin setup of a traditional twin but the narrowed nose and heightened tail rocker of a modern performance craft, check out the video above. It features Britt Merrick and his harem of elite wave-sliders sampling and describing their experiences on CI’s new Fishbeard—which, to reiterate, is neither a slimy sea creature nor an esteemed form of facial hair.
It does look pretty fun to ride, though.
