This Board Is Too Good for Your Airbnb Wall
The CI Team put any doubt to rest and give Feb’s Fish its rightful home.
When Mikey February talked Britt Merrick into shaping a board that was half 1970s San Diego, half contemporary rip stick, Feb’s Fish was born.
Those without a keen eye might have dismissed it as just another retro-nostalgia trip, a couple of nails away from hanging on the climate-controlled wall of a holiday home in a gentrified surf town.
Then Mikey took his Fish to Mexico, Morocco, J-Bay, and Indo, and it proved less wall art, more functional instrument. One that’s held a permanent spot in his quiver ever since.
Now, while Mikey’s off field-testing 16 unfamiliar shapes for our upcoming E.A.S.T., the rest of the Channel Islands team have adopted his pet project for their recent Mentawai trip. Cam Richards, Shun Murakami, Kyuss King, and Kian Martin are suddenly riding Feb’s Fish like it’s theirs.
It’s a neat little irony: while the CI crew are only just shedding their skepticism and discovering a classic, Mikey’s already on to his next 16 experiments.
