The Best Overall Wetsuits Of 2024
Treat yo self.
A wetsuit should keep you warm and otherwise make you forget about it.
Unless there’s a certain chunk of the reef you’re likely to repeatedly bounce across due to a potent combination of enthusiasm and poor wave selection, it’s hard to construct an argument for wetsuits being more pleasant to surf in than boardshorts.
So, the best wetsuits are the ones that do their job (ie: you not getting hypothermia) without restricting you. Speaking of best wetsuits, we sampled eleven different brands in our 2024 test.
While some stood out for other reasons — such as being great deals or impressively technical — we found the following four to be damn fine suits in general.
Manera X10D
Manera’s got quite an offering of suits to service different needs. They optimized this one for flexibility and comfort — and you’ll feel that immediately when you slide in. It’s a great option for those who constantly want to beat their friends and/or strangers in imaginary heats.
Body Glove Gold Cell
When you’ve been building wetsuits for 60 years, you ain’t going to miss. The Gold Cell is Body Glove’s marquee suit for 2024, and is decked out with proprietary tech from the OGs. Every detail is done right — from the liner to the taping to the seams. Well played.
Mystic Majestic
This North Sea-based brand has a deep history of designing products in the wind and kite surf world. Recently, they decided it was time to make a bigger push in the core surf scene. Mystic showed right up to play ball with a suit that checks all the boxes. Warm, comfortable, stretchy — bam.
O’Neill HyperFreak Fire
This thing rose above the other 10 brands we tested and won our wetsuit test. What more do we need to say?
