Smoke Some Bitches

Go pick up a Stab Hard-Cover book from the newsagents and check out the style cover. Staring up at you will be a young blonde beauty by the name of Laura Enever. A lot’s been happening for the North Narrabeen local recently. Aside from looking gorgeous for our big book cover, Laura picked up a new head-to-toe sponsor in the form of Nike 6.0 and qualified for the 2011 ASP Women’s World Tour. First year in the big leagues… scary, huh? Nope. Laura just wants to smoke some bitches. Stab: Have you seen the Stab big book yet?  Laura Enever: Yes! I got it sent to my house. And were you happy with the outcome? Yeah, it was really, really cool. I liked it. It actually ended up being the most low-key thing in the whole book. After my thing there was like, dicks n’ stuff (giggles). So many naked people! I looked minor compared to everyone else. I was the most… You were r-rated, the rest was x-rated? Yeah! How’d you feel when you saw it? Well, I really liked it. I look a lot older, I think. I had a whole lot of people commenting on it and they all loved it. My grandma even liked it! So I was stoked with that. I think everyone liked it, I haven’t had any bad reviews yet. Except for brother-like figures that were like, “Oh, I can’t believe I’ve seen you like that”. You’re always gonna get that. I know! But I’m growing up now, though. I’m 19. I’m not going to be a teenager at the end of the year. My birthday’s in november. I don’t wanna ever have to get old. What about your boyfriend? How’d he feel about it? Oh, he said I look ‘Crip’. That’s the word the Hawaiians use. I think it’s like, a good-looking girl. He was like, “I bet a whole heap of guys wanna hook up with you now.” It’s cool though ’cause it’s different. Everyone was saying that hardly any other girls have really had that sort of shoot. Well, Steph had one (done byStab) but that didn’t get shown. So I hear you’re off to Hawaii? Yeah, I think I’m going over for about 10 days. We’re finishing the Nike girl’s surfing movie. How’s the Nike 6.0 thing working out? It’s going really well, I designed all my wetsuits and got all my clothes and shoes sent to me, so it’s cool. Its been a big change, but it’s good. They want to involve me in heaps. They’re going to team me up with (professional tennis player) Maria Sharapova, so I think I’m gong to shoot with her, which is awesome. So you’ll be an athlete, not just a surfer? Mmm, I don’t know about that… But they already know I’m more of a lifestyle-type of girl. They wanted me for who I am and they like my approach to everything, so they’re stoked. What do your wetsuits look like? They’re black and white. That was my first batch, I think I’ve got some pink ones coming. I had the black and white ones for the World Juniors at Narrabeen, ’cause black and white are the North Narrabeen colours (laughs). You gotta get some super-fruity ones. Yeah, I will. Hopefully I’ll also design some clothes too, and get some cool stuff going. What happens after Hawaii? Well I’m doing that, then I come home and head to Snapper for the Quikky Pro! I’m excited about that. I don’t even know what to expect for my first ‘CT. I don’t wanna change who I am, I just wanna have fun with it. I don’t wanna be serious yet. Tell me about qualifying for the WT next year. I found out in Hawaii. I was stoked! At the beginning of last year I didn’t even want to qualify. I didn’t want to make surfing a job yet. I was like, “I wanna be young still and just be 18!” But I had the funnest year last year and I qualified and I was like, “Well fine, I’ll just have fun with it.” And that’s how I did it, I just had fun. And it worked out perfectly. I don’t want to change who I am just to be on the ‘CT. That would be stupid. I’ve been training a bit though, it’s all just about having a good balance, I think. Are you excited? You’ll get to surf some pretty awesome waves with just one other person. Yeah I’m excited. I’m pumped about Snapper, for sure. I’ll smoke some bitches hopefully.
