How do you wash off the hangover from a full week of waves, wine, and a damned good time in the Basque Country?
After enjoying Zarautz’s hospitality for the Vans Duct Tape Invitational, Stab loaded the Vans team—Alex Knost, Dane Reynolds, Tanner Guduaskas, Lee Ann Curren, and Duct Tape overlord Joel Tudor—into a handful of Mercedes Eurovans and headed to the mountains, for a dip in the Wavegarden’s river-fed pool tucked quietly in the Cantabrians just a twenty minute drive away, on the handshapes they’d carefully cobbled.
Over the gloriously sunny Monday, the crew shredded, Dane acid dropped and did spinners, Joel and Alex logged, Lee Ann laid down drop-wallets, and Tanner got loose, the Wavegarden’s 1/5th-scale prototype leaving the crew with pruned fingers, glassy eyes and a novel send off back to States.
