Lisa Anderson won four world titles. Then Layne Beachley won seven. And Stephanie Gilmore (pictured here) has just taken her fourth. How likely d’ya think the chances of Steph beating Layne’s record are? At this point, it’s not unimaginable. Of the eight ASP women’s world tour events that ran in 2010, Steph won four of them. To give you some scope, Kelly won four out of the 10 men’s events for the year.

If you’ve seen the Stab hard-cover big book, you’ve see the photo shoot we did with Laura Enever. A little while back, we did something similar with Steph. Very sexy, but a little too sexy for the powers that be. Unfortunately it’ll never see the light of day.

Photog Jimmy Wilson says of the current women’s world champ: “Steph is levels above the other girls. I think Tyler Wright could challenge her in good waves but Steph’s style and form really is top notch. She’s the female version of Parko but with lots of world titles. Four and counting…”
