After the Quiksilver Pro, Gold Coast waiting period finished, swell jabbed different parts of the east coast. Newcastle, where Ryan Callinan here is from, had a couple of particularly good days. Ryan’s been hanging at home, shooting with filmer Jack Taylor and the photographer who snapped this handplant, Bosko. When Stab asked if Ryan rode out of this, Bosko replied: “I don’t know. I copped the wave on the head!” (laughs). Regardless, it’s a very good moment, and the kind of thing you can catch Ryan stomping in Kai Neville’s newest film, Cluster, which just dropped digitally.
