Pat Gudauskas, a little ol school grill slam, northern California
Mr Dave Nelson aka Nelly sure does like his hands on the microphone. Let’s give it to him, readers! “I fiend on shooting fisheye shots skate style. The closer the better. Our goal this day was to shoot fisheye action even though it’s normally a slabbing barrel. I sat wide and gave Dusty (Payne) and Pat (pictured here) a ton of room to get off a couple of pumps and a get a ton of speed.” What else you got, Dave? “Well, Pat, Dusty and I had left my house before dawn on this glorious morning. It’s an hour drive down the coast and the swell was running north-west with dead glass conditions. We pulled up and saw a wave spit across the sandbar and we couldn’t get our suits on fast enough! This was Pat’s first wave. He rotated over my head and stuck it.” How did he stick it? “Like a Big Dog,” roars Mr Nelson.
