Mike Gleason, Off The Wall, Hawaii

At some places, you’ve just gotta pay to play. And, Hawaii will always be one of those places. Of the morning y’see pictured here, photog Ryan Miller says: “Mike Gleason was out at Off The Wall with Volcom ace photographer Tom Carey swimming, who you can see in the bottom left of this frame. Mike, Alex Gray and Derek Dunfee were all playing crash dummy to have the chance at scoring an amazing photo, and maybe their best wave of the winter. Check Tom, right in the sweet spot here, ready to snap away – but, the drops were just so damn steep, the boys were having trouble making every wave. I saw Gleason take three waves like this before making one amazing one and hooking up with Tom in the process, on his fourth try. His last one was that good that, if he’d made it, it would’ve been all worth it.”
