Following the first world tour event of 2014, being the Quiksilver Pro, Gold Coast, Julian Wilson has been enjoying a stint back at home in Coolum with his fam. And it’s been well-timed. The waves have been fun, the weather friendly, and the setting offered perfect vibes to shake off his round three loss at Snapper and get tuned up for Margaret River. Photographer Ryan Miller has been documenting Jules in the water during this stretch. “Looking at this sequence, it looks similar to the vantage point Julian’s competitor would have while paddling back out,” says Ryan. “I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be in a heat with this guy and see this while paddling back out from a crap wave.”

Jules also features in Oakley’s latest Hawaiian Winter edit, which you can watch over here. And, if you’ve recently sat on your eyewear, or scratched a lens, or done any of the things that we all do to ruin sunglasses, or if you just wanna up your summer vibes, then you could do worse than to check out Julian’s new signature Breadbox sunnies, just here.
